12 Tops - spin-off EPs
There are a few EPs which were released under the title, "Todays Hits", all of which are associated with the "12 Tops" album series. They were launched near to the end of LP series' life, and so the last one has no album tracks at all. We believe there were only three issued, as detailed below.

It is debatable whether this EP should be included, but we feature it here for interest. It was issued as a promotional item for Barker & Dobson and Bensons, both confectioners, and technically forms part of an independent series of flexi-discs which were released under the banner, "Barker & Dobson / Bensons Present Great Party Hits".
This flexi-disc is one-sided and contains two recordings from "12 Tops" volume 27 (and also, incidentally, "Parade of Pops" volume 21). It is titled (slightly misleadingly, for budget LP collectors) 2 Chart Busters and the "sleeve" consists of a printed paper bag!
There's A Whole Lot Of Loving Bye Bye Baby Comments: This flexi-disc constitutes side 1 of the EP AMD 1, above (although the songs are in reverse order). Both tracks are pressed onto the same side of the disc. The other side is blank. There is no label or catalogue number stated. There is an LP referenced on the sleeve - Hits For Ever - but we have been unable to find out anything more about it, except that it might be a Dutch release. |
To the left are two more discs in the series. Far left is 2 Soul Classics and near left is 2 Super Ballads. Both include a pair of tracks, and all titles appear in the 12 Tops series. We assume that, like the one above, they contain the same versions as 12 Tops - although this is not certain at present. |
