"Top Twelve" - overseas
Israel
This EP appears to be much the same as the UK EP number 1, thereby accounting for 50 percent of LP volume 1. However it is not completely identical - the label itself has the number 17041 printed on it, probably serving as an independent Israeli numbering system since it sits where the UK catalogue number "Six 1" would have been. We also know of dark purple sleeves, but so far the only one we've seen belongs to EP 5 in the series - which has no direct link to the LPs. Since the songs are printed on the sleeves in Hebrew, they are not generic. More info will be posted as and when it comes to light. |
Mexico
Mexico released a lengthy series of albums under the name "La Ola Inglesa", between roughly 1964 and 1974. There were at least 24 issued, on the Mexican label, Diana. The first two contain tracks from the "Top Twelve" LPs.
The Mexican albums continued to appear after the UK albums had ceased, but of course the "Top Six" EPs continued - and this is where Diana obtained their source recordings up to volume 6.
After that they borrowed from other UK budget labels, but we still picture the first twelve below, as the repeating cover art is almost identical to the UK "Top Twelve" covers, down to the star with the volume number inside. (The background photo differs however - it has been reversed and also shifted downwards, so that few of the faces in the crowd are visible on both!)
This page will be updated as and when new information comes our way. Please note that some of the song titles below are educated guesses, since they are given in Spanish on the fronts, and the translations are sometimes ambiguous.

The albums below are not linked to the UK series, except by their cover art - which is why we have decided to feature them on this page ...

We know of volume 2 from New Zealand, which corresponds to the UK LP. Whether other volumes exist, we cannot say at present.
