Top of the Pops (1968 - 1985)
Top of the Pops is the flagship covers album, and was created in 1968 by Hallmark, a UK label under the Pickwick umbrella. It was to become the biggest and most famous series, besides being the longest running, spanning 17 years.
With some 92 standard albums, many dozens of cassette and 8-track editions, 14 end-of-year sets, half a dozen Europe Editions and even some CD re-issues, we have decided not to document them here as they would take up multiple pages and only duplicate information long in the public domain.
