Sounds Like Hits (Fontana) (1968 - 1969)
Part of the large Philips organisation, Fontana was a label set up in the 1950s. They had most of their success with hit singles, and for a while were the UK outlet for Motown records.
Fontana seemed to have no prior interest in covers albums, but for some reason they did a deal with Rediffusion to release their own copies of the "Sounds Like Hits" series. They did not release all of them, but those they did, were issued in entirely different sleeves, and some Fontana albums are known to have track listings which do not correspond with the Rediffusion LPs - giving the series its own identity.
For covers, Fontana started out with a repeating psychedelic graphic design, before switching to a series of photos of people dancing at parties. It is possible that all the photographs were taken at the same event.
